Coaching

Coaching is a supportive, collaborative, and transformative relationship that supports individuals in making changes, reaching goals, breaking patterns, and finding greater fulfillment and meaning in life.

Coaching might address a specific area: career, parenting, education, or navigating a life change. It might also address a less specific need such as finding more meaning in life, making sense of experiences, managing stress, or having accountability and support.

I coach clients with a wide variety of goals and needs. In particular, I specialize in:

  • Life transitions
  • Major projects (academic or otherwise)
  • Indecision, regret, and fear
  • A desire for reflection and deeper meaning

I hold a Coaching for Transformation Certificate from Leadership that Work, am a certified Mindfulness Mentor, and have completed trainings in healing circles, restorative justice, and listening practices. As a fellow with the Lifeways of Hope Initiative, I studied listening in many practical settings, and in my research and coaching I have worked with people in diverse contexts.

I meet clients on Zoom and offer a free introductory 30-minute call. I offer 5 or 10 session packages depending on your needs.

Katherine has the ability to hold questions with care and discernment. She facilitates reflection on many levels, helping to tease out answers while not directing the process. Katherine has a warm presence and cultivates a space where slowing down, reflecting, and taking time to consider new perspectives is possible.
– Dominique Burgunder-Johnson, coaching client

As a professional coach, Katherine is uniquely gifted with attentive listening and a real capacity to synthesize skillsets and growth potential. As with the best mentors, she leads with compassion, collaborates to set achievable goals, and applies her considerable intelligence and publication-level writing skills to the task of facilitating her clients’ workflow. I feel lucky to benefit from her encouragement and expertise.
– Dr. Sarah Robinson, coaching client

Katherine worked with me on career coaching when I was at a critical point – I was very unsettled in my current role and trying to make the shift to a new field. She offered thoughtful reflections, useful tools, and guidance, helping me sift through my various options and really think about how my skill set aligned with my goals. About a year later, I landed my first role in government. I really appreciate the time Katherine spent with me on processing my career direction and next steps – her support was invaluable and I would highly recommend working with her!
